Section 8
Voucher
Program

The Section 8
Voucher Program is a federally funded program whereby qualified applicants may
receive assistance with paying their rent. People who receive Section 8 vouchers
find their own rental housing and use the vouchers they receive from their
housing agency to help pay the rent. Basically, the voucher means that the
government will pay a specific amount of the rent.
Applications are
available in the Housing Authority's office, Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00
pm.
Currently, there
is a waiting list for this program of up to 30-36 months before any assistance
would be available.
Landlords: If you
own a home that you would like to rent to Section 8 tenants, contact the housing
authority to find out how.
