BOCC Workshop - Fertilizer Ordinance

The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will hold the following public workshop on September 1, 2020 in the John Law Ayers room, located on the first floor of the Government Center at 20 North Main Street in Brooksville. A short description is listed below along with the time the workshop will begin.
 
In accordance with Fifth Judicial Circuit Administrative Order A-2020-12-F, all members of the public entering the Hernando County Courthouse, located at 20 N. Main Street in Brooksville, and wishing to provide public comment during these workshops will be required to answer a health screening questionnaire, wear a face covering throughout the public areas of the courthouse and practice social distancing by remaining 6 feet from others.
 

Fertilizer Ordinance

The BOCC will hold a public workshop beginning at 9 a.m. to discuss the current Hernando County fertilizer ordinance (Ordinance No. 2013-34). The current ordinance restricts the application of fertilizer containing nitrogen or phosphorus to turf during the season of plant dormancy, from January 1 through March 31. Unless you are a trained, certified and registered applicator per the terms of the ordinance, only slow or controlled release fertilizer can be applied during this timeframe.
 
Subject matter experts will give presentations on this topic and public comment will be taken.
