Hernando County Animal Services provides dog licensing, animal sheltering, care and adoption services. All animals are fully vetted—spayed or neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and licensed (Hernando County residents only). Dogs are tested for heartworm disease. The Hernando County Sheriff's Office is authorized to investigate possible animal-related law violations and take appropriate enforcement action.
