Residents are invited to virtually attend a Rain Barrel and Compost Bin Workshop on Thursday, September 23, 2021. The Compost Workshop will be held from 6 – 6:40 p.m. Compost bins are free to Hernando County residents who attend the workshop One bin is allowed per household. The Rain Barrel Workshop will be held from 6:45 – 7:30 p.m. You must attend a workshop to purchase a rain barrel. Rain barrels are $50. A one-time water bill credit of $25 is available for customers of Hernando County Utilities for attending a workshop and taking a rain barrel home. Registration is required as class size is limited. Rain barrel and compost bin pick up will be Friday, September 24, 2021 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Hernando County Utilities Department located at 15365 Cortez Boulevard in Brooksville.
