Public Meeting Scheduled for the Artificial Reef Project
(Brooksville, FL) – Hernando County Government’s Waterways and Aquatic Services Division in conjunction with Water & Air Research, Inc. will host a public meeting for the Artificial Reef Project on Monday, November 13th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Hernando County Government Administration Office (15470 Flight Path Drive, Brooksville, FL 34604).
The purpose of this project is to complete the planning, design, permitting, and monitoring of ten artificial reefs. This will expand Hernando County’s existing permitted artificial reefs, creating a regional network of reefs. The overarching goal of the reefs is to enhance and increase nature-based tourism within the county, while also creating essential habitat for fish and sessile invertebrates.
