Hernando County Solid Waste Operations Update for Hurricane Milton

 

(Brooksville, FL) – Due to Hurricane Milton, Hernando County Solid Waste is updating Landfill and Convenience Center operations. Residents and Contractors are now permitted to utilize the West Hernando Convenience Center and the Main Landfill 24/7 during this pre-storm event for Hurricane Milton.

 

Trailers are permitted at all locations below. All storm debris related tipping fees are waived, until further notice.

 

Landfill and Convenience Centers Updated Operations: 

  • The Northwest Solid Waste Facility (Main Landfill: 14450 Landfill Rd.) is open 24/7, until further notice.
  • The West Hernando Convenience Center (2525 Osowaw Blvd.) is open 24/7, until further notice.
  • The East Hernando Convenience Center (33070 Cortez Blvd.) is open during normal operating hours which are Tuesday - Saturday, 9am-5pm.

 

Garbage collection through Republic Services is operating tomorrow Tuesday, October 8th, and will not operate on Wednesday, October 9th.
