NOTICE OF PROGRAM OF PROJECTS
HERNANDO COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
FY 2025 PROGRAM OF PROJECTS (POP) BUDGET
FOR THE HERNANDO COUNTY MASS TRANSIT SYSTEM
ALL INTERESTED PARTIES within Hernando County are hereby notified that the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners is making application to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) for program funds under 49 U.S.C. Section 5307, Urbanized Area Formula Program of the Federal Transit Act, and 49 U.S.C. Section 5339, Formula Grants.
On November 19, 2024, the Board of County Commissioners will be approving the FY2025 Program of Projects budget and the public is invited to comment. This public notice of public involvement activities and time established for public review and comments will satisfy the FTAβs Program of Projects requirements. Unless amended by the Board, grant application will be made based upon this program.
The Fiscal Year 2025 5307/5339 Program of Projects is consistent with the approved Transportation Improvement Program of the Hernando/Citrus Metropolitan Planning Organization. The Fiscal Year 2025 Capital Grants provide for a total combined program funding apportionment of $5,353,473. Eligible capital expenses include, but are not limited to preventative maintenance, construction of bus bays/lighting/landing and shelter pads, planning/design consulting, fixed route/paratransit vehicles, and security/surveillance equipment for vehicles.
The Fiscal Year 2025 Federal Section 5311 and State Block Grant provided by Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) are also included in this public notice. These are operating funds and require a 50% Local Match funded by the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners 9th Cent Local Option Gas Tax. Total Project costs are $1,775,716, FDOT $887,858 and Local Match $887,858.
