Countywide IT Network Interruption

Government and Constitutional Offices Experience Network Interruption  

Hernando County Government recently experienced an interruption of the county-wide IT network. Upon learning of this interruption, the Hernando County Clerk Information Technology Incident Response Team (IRT) was deployed and immediately began working with third-party computer specialists to investigate the nature and scope of the incident. Please know that the IRT is diligently working to bring the network back online and minimize service interruptions wherever possible.

Please note that certain public safety emergency and critical services, including 911, Sheriff, Fire Rescue, EMS, and others have remained operational. 

Some services may be temporarily unavailable or limited. Please contact your local constitutional and government offices for service availability.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we continue to investigate this matter. The IRT is eagerly working to bring the systems back online. As the investigation into this interruption is ongoing, we are unable to provide additional information about the interruption at this time but will provide updates once additional information is obtained.

  • Economic Development
    • Open and operating 
  • Tourism 
    • Open and operating 
  • Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport & Technology Center
    • Manually accepting lease payments via check and cash
  • Budget & Procurement
    • Solicitations for bids are being accepted 

Community Services:  

  • Animal Services
    • Open and operating including adoptions, rescues, normal veterinarian operations, animal intake, etc.  
  • Parks and Recreation
    • All parks are open and operating
  • Library Services
    • All 4 libraries are open and operating
  • Veteran Services
    • Open and operating and taking client appointments 
  • UF/IFAS Hernando County Extension office
    • Open and operating 
  • Waterways & Aquatic Services
    • Open and operating

 Public Safety: 

  • Fire Rescue
    • Open and operating including fire inspections, EMS, fire prevention, responding to calls, etc.
  • Emergency Management
    • Open and operating 
  • Mosquito Control
    • Open and operating

Development Services:

  • Planning & Zoning Division
    • Open and operating services as normal.
  • Building Division
    • Inspections and contractor licensing are operating
    • Paper applications for permit intake are being accepted via the drop box in the lobby
    • Walk-through permitting is still being processed
    • Permit applications can be submitted electronically here.
      • The applicant uploads the required documents, and the applications will be processed in the order they are received. A Permit Coordinator will review the application for required documentation and then contact the applicant with an application number and/or any additional information needed.  
  • Code Enforcement
    • Open and operating 
    • Code officers are on active patrol

Operations:

  • Department of Public Works
    • Open and accepting services requests, residential driveway inspections, grading and stormwater operations continue, and accepting 811 locate tickets. 
    • TheBus is operating on all routes
  • Utilities Department
    • All water and wastewater treatment facilities are operating including field operations (maintenance, fixing leaks, etc.), pump stations, utility locating services, meter reading, manual FDEP permitting, and field inspections on construction projects 
    • Accepting cash, credit card, and check payments in the office
    • Customers can make payments online via the website
    • Accepting online applications for service
  • Solid Waste Management
    • Trash collection and recycling are operating
    • The main landfill and convenience centers are open and operating normal business hours (cash, card, and check payments are accepted)

Housing and Support Services: 

  • Health and Human Services
    • Client assessments and referrals are being processed
    • Down payment assistance and SHIP are currently on hold 

Property Appraiser:

  • Both offices are open

  • The Hernando County Property Appraiser's Addressing department is working with limited capability and are able to issue addresses at the Spring Hill Office only.
    • Please contact their Addressing department at (352) 754-4190 - Option 4.

  • The Hernando County Property Appraiser's offices are now accepting split/merge applications as well as shapefile requests.

Supervisor of Elections: 

 

Tax Collector: 

  • Open and providing services for driver licenses, motor vehicle, toll payments, hunting and fishing licenses, Florida birth certificates and taxes
  • Processing for Concealed Weapons Licenses may be delayed

Clerk of Court:
