The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners, through its Health and Human Services Program provides social service support and assistance to eligible residents that are in need.  Most programs and services provided are mandated by the State of Florida.  Funding for programs provided by Health and Human Services are funded mostly through the general funds.  However, staff strive to connect individuals to variety of state, federal, private, and nonprofit resources to promote, protect, and improve one’s quality of life.
