Hernando County is dedicated to increasing and preserving the quantity and quality of housing for all Hernando County residents.  It is our goal to provide citizens, particularly those with very low to moderate income with strong, diverse, and viable housing options. 

This division administers state and federally funded housing programs for home repairs and improvements, provides subsidies through our local Housing Authority to first time home buyers for down payments assistance and coordinates grant awards.  Programs administered include the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP3), State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) program and Florida Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) when awarded.
