Please Note: The Active Military Combat Duty Grant program is currently suspended until further notice.

The Active Military Combat Duty Grant (AMCDG) Program was initiated by the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners in 2005. The program provides monetary grants to families of active military personnel serving in combat duty zones designated by Presidential executive order. The program’s intent is to provide funding assistance for the maintenance and support of the families and homes of active military personnel.

Qualified military personnel are entitled to receive a grant in the full amount of the ad valorem taxes paid in Hernando County for the year in which the individuals served in active military duty not to exceed $1,000 per calendar year. Pursuant to the ordinance, application for the grant funds must be made to the Hernando County Veterans Service Office.
