Veterans' Preference

Veteransโ€™ preference is given to eligible veterans and spouses of veterans in accordance with Chapter 295, Florida Statutes. Veterans' Preference eligibility has changed. Effective July 1, 2007 Operation Enduring Freedom (Oct 7, 2001 - present) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (Mar 19, 2003 - present) veterans will be eligible for preference, in addition to other eligible categories. See F.S. 1.01(14) for more information. Additionally, F.S. 295.101 has been repealed and eligibility in the State of Florida is now perpetual, and no longer a single entitlement. In order to receive preference, eligibility documentation is requested at time of application, but must be provided before closing date of job posting. You may attach a scanned copy or call 352-540-6493 to make arrangements.
